NIGHTHAWKS ANNOUNCE 2006-2007 ABA SCHEDULE

Rockville, MD - The Maryland Nighthawks announced Friday that they will tip-off their third season in the American Basketball Association on Saturday, November 4 against their I-95 rival Newark Express in Newark at 7:05 p.m. to open the 2006-2007 season.

Other noteworthy games on the 2006-07 schedule include three visits from the expansion Richmond Warriors, owned by Ms. Iverson, mother of NBA star Allen Iverson, including the the home opener on Saturday, November 11 as well as on Sunday, January 21 and Sunday, February 25. The only Maryland appearance of the defending ABA Eastern Conference Champion Strong Island Sound on Sunday Janurary 10, and a Martin Luther King Day matinee matchup against the Newark Express on January 15.

“This is a great schedule for our fans, especially the younger ones, with all of the home games falling Friday evenings, weekends, and holidays ” said Nighthawks Director of Sales and Marketing Adam Dantus. The Nighthawks’ 18-game home schedule is highlighted by all weekend games; including three Friday night games, seven Saturday night games, seven Sunday matinees which tip off at 4:05pm, and one Monday MLK Day game with a special tip-off time of 3:05 p.m. All Friday and Saturday games tip-off at 7:05 p.m.

The Nighthawks also announced for the second consecutive season that all 18 home games and a select number of road games will be broadcasted online on the Maryland Nighthawks Radio Network hosted by Audio Sports Online. The games will be called by “A.D.” returning for his second season as the voice of the Nighthawks.

The Nighthawks are now taking deposits on 2006-07 season tickets that feature all 18 regular season home games. Nighthawks season tickets start at just $5 per game and can be reserved now by calling (301) 758-1090 or by downloading the Season Ticket Form and mailing it back to the Nighthawks Offices. Individual game tickets will go on sale in October.
